PrepAway Cisco CCNP Route Certification Practice Test Questions Part 1 300-101 Exam
A network engineer notices that transmission rates of senders of TCP traffic sharply increase and decrease simultaneously during periods of congestion. Which condition causes this?
- A. global synchronization
- B. tail drop
- C. random early detection
- D. queue management algorithm
Explanation: TCP global synchronization in computer networks can happen to TCP/IP flows during periods of congestion because each sender will reduce their transmission rate at the same time when packet loss occurs. Routers on the Internet normally have packet queues, to allow them to hold packets when the network is busy, rather than discarding them. Because routers have limited resources, the size of these queues is also limited. The simplest technique to limit queue size is known as tail drop. The queue is allowed to fill to its maximum size, and then any new packets are simply discarded, until there is space in the queue again. This causes problems when used on TCP/IP routers handling multiple TCP streams, especially when bursty traffic is present. While the network is stable, the queue is constantly full, and there are no problems except that the full queue results in high latency. However, the introduction of a sudden burst of traffic may cause large numbers of established, steady streams to lose packets simultaneously.

About 300-101 Exam
The Cisco 300-101 exam is one of three tests that one must pass in order to progress in the CCNP Routing and Switching or CCDP certifications. This test verifies the candidate’s routing knowledge and skills.
The Cisco 300-101 ROUTE exam questions vary from 45 to 65 in number, depending on each paper, and the students are required to offer solutions to them within 2 hours. It is noteworthy to state that the questions are in a multiple-choice format, available in the English and Japanese languages. More importantly, the pass mark for this certification test is 70%. Each question is specifically created to probe and evaluate the real-life experience of the candidates in networking. The 300-101 exam is designed to evaluate one’s understanding of configuration, implementation and organization a Cisco router linked to another network.
This Cisco exam is intended for IT degree students, network technicians and/or designers, and networking gurus who want to sharpen their skills to remain relevant and competitive in Network troubleshooting, switching, and complex/advanced routing. They should have a good understanding of routing protocol configuration, network design, as well as highly secure routing solutions.

- Layer 2/3 technologies
- VPN technologies
- Infrastructure services
- Infrastructure security
Each prospective candidate is expected to pay $300 for this exam. Meanwhile, those who are not successful in their first sitting are not permitted to sit for the test for a stipulated time. At the expiration of this pre-determined time, the interested students can then pay the exam fee again.
Fortunately, sitting for the Cisco 300-101 exam is not really attached with any stringent conditions except the fact that one must not be less than 18 years of age. As part of the preparation, it is strongly suggested that you obtain practical and relevant skills in networking, Cisco routers and modems. This is based on the fact that practical experience is the key to nail most of the questions in this certification test.
